New Direction

Hi everyone! I have been making cards for challenges, but frankly I am having difficulty with motivation.
I have decided to shift away from card challenges, and move to 'Operation Write home' - the link is on the right. I feel so much more motivated making cards for our troops to send to their loved ones. I hope that if you aren't already doing this, that you'll stop on over to their site - and if you feel the 'motivation', help out too. Kat

A new challenge...

Hi all, this week's challenge was chosen from Stampin' for the Weekend
The theme was 'Spots & Dots'...

The base card is from an Annies Attic Cardmaker card kit
The sentiment and flower's on the inside are also from the above card making kit
I used DWCV paper

I cut out some individual flowers and dots from the paper and glued them on to give texture. The sentiment is also raised on foam dots. The button at the 'wallet' flap is stiched on and glued for additional strength. I stamped the flower border on the inside in the same color as the sentiment, although it is hard to tell from my poor picture taking!

Anyway, here's the pics - enjoy!

Summer has arrived (finally!!!!) here in Seattle, to celebrate, I decided to participate in the Cricut Card Challenge this week. The theme is "Tutti Fruitti".
I have this lovely watermelon ribbon that I've been wanting to incorporate, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity!
The lettering is from - Life's a Beach
The watermelons are from - Doodlecharms. I inked the outside dark green, and inked the part closest to the pink watermelon, a lighter pink - for a real watermelon rind look.

Busy, busy, busy...

hi! I was hoping to get something done for a couple of challenges I saw, but my weekend turned out to be much busier than I anticipated! I am working on a card for the wedding of one of my daughter's friends - I'd like to get it done and entered for Cute Card Thursday's weekly challenge (this week is lace) but I'm not happy with the design yet. Once I get it done I'll post it...might not make it in time for the challenge, but we'll see. I also have been playing around with some new textures and mediums that I don't normally use. I'll be taking some photos throughout the please, check back!

Cooking With Cricut Card Challenge

Here is my very first card challenge entry. The challenge is @ Cooking With Cricut (The button is on the right) and the theme was cows.
I used the cow from 'Paperdoll Dress Up', the barn from ' Everyday paperdolls', the sentiment is from 'Paisley', the grass from 'Plantin Schoolbook', and the butterfly is from 'Serenade'. Whew - I think that's it.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the cows are all 3D. The front cow is raised on foam dots, and the others have their heads lifted from the paper a bit, just to give them dimension. I also used the butterfly image twice to give it a 'flying' look. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a fabulous 4th!

Page Set up

hi everyone,
Working on getting my crafting page set up. I've never created a web page or blog before, so it's an experience!
My plan is to start entering card challenges, and posting my cards, layouts & projects here. Hopefully all goes well. I will also be adding links to the various sites I've visited and enjoy. A few that I like are already on the right.
