New Direction

Hi everyone! I have been making cards for challenges, but frankly I am having difficulty with motivation.
I have decided to shift away from card challenges, and move to 'Operation Write home' - the link is on the right. I feel so much more motivated making cards for our troops to send to their loved ones. I hope that if you aren't already doing this, that you'll stop on over to their site - and if you feel the 'motivation', help out too. Kat

A new challenge...

Hi all, this week's challenge was chosen from Stampin' for the Weekend http://stampinfortheweekend.blogspot.com/
The theme was 'Spots & Dots'...

The base card is from an Annies Attic Cardmaker card kit
The sentiment and flower's on the inside are also from the above card making kit
I used DWCV paper

I cut out some individual flowers and dots from the paper and glued them on to give texture. The sentiment is also raised on foam dots. The button at the 'wallet' flap is stiched on and glued for additional strength. I stamped the flower border on the inside in the same color as the sentiment, although it is hard to tell from my poor picture taking!

Summertime...

Summer has arrived (finally!!!!) here in Seattle, to celebrate, I decided to participate in the Cricut Card Challenge this week. The theme is "Tutti Fruitti".
I have this lovely watermelon ribbon that I've been wanting to incorporate, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity!
The lettering is from - Life's a Beach
The watermelons are from - Doodlecharms. I inked the outside dark green, and inked the part closest to the pink watermelon, a lighter pink - for a real watermelon rind look.
